VILLA DE LEYVA " MAIN TOWN SQUARE "

The beautifully town of Villa De Leyva was founded in 1572, by the new Europeans from Spain, in less than a century three thirds of the indigenous people disappear and the deforestation was massive, at the point that European compare this land with some dessert's areas of Spain, like the city of castilla . Today the city offer the chance to experience the past and future, most of the town is in good shape and no renovation are allowed, most of the habitants are a mixture of Europeans and native Colombians. But don't let the locals (with money) to know that, or they will be embarrassed .
